We invite applications from Ph.D. students at Northwestern University wishing to complete a one- to three-month research exchange at the University of Hamburg on the theme of sustainability and/or related to climate change.
This new initiative will bring together scientists and engineers – graduate students and their faculty research advisors – from the University of Hamburg (UH) with their peers at Northwestern University (NU) for research in the fields of climate science and sustainable technology development. The goal is to facilitate a robust synergy and cross-fertilization of ideas among researchers at Northwestern University and the University of Hamburg, with a view toward long term collaborations. The rolling deadlines will be:
DEADLINE: May 31, 2026 for a start date of Sept. 1, 2026.
Northwestern support for this initiative is provided by the Paula M. Trienens Institute for Sustainability and Energy, the University of Hamburg, and McCormick Global Initiatives.
